1. Who We Are
Auntie is a personal listening and companionship service operated by Level Castiles LLC, a Virginia limited liability company (“Auntie,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose personal information when you visit callyourauntie.com, book a call, speak with an Auntie, or otherwise communicate with us (together, the “Services”).
Your use of the Services is also governed by our Service Agreement. If there is a conflict between the Service Agreement and this Privacy Policy about the collection, processing, or disclosure of personal information, this Privacy Policy controls, except that the dispute-resolution provisions of the Service Agreement govern any dispute relating to this Privacy Policy or our information practices.
By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and understand the practices described in it.
2. Auntie Is Not a Licensed Service
Please read this section carefully. Auntie is a companionship and listening service. Aunties are not therapists, counselors, or licensed professionals of any kind, and Auntie does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or professional advice.
Auntie is not a covered entity or a business associate under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”), and HIPAA does not apply to the Services. What you say during a call is not protected by HIPAA and is not covered by the legal confidentiality rules that apply to licensed professionals. Your Auntie will treat what you share with care and discretion, but that is a matter of our practice and not a legal privilege.
If we become concerned about the safety of you or another person, or if we are presented with a valid legal request, we may use and disclose the limited information reasonably necessary to respond.
3. Calls Are Not Recorded
Auntie does not record calls. Auntie does not keep notes of what is discussed on a call, and Aunties are instructed not to create or retain records of call content.
We do keep the information needed to run the business: that you booked a call, when it happened, how long it lasted, and that it was paid for. We may also keep a limited record of a safety concern or a complaint, and of any communication you send us.
4. What You Choose to Share
You decide what you tell us and what you tell your Auntie. We do not ask for, and we do not want, details about your health, finances, identification numbers, or other sensitive matters, and we ask that you not provide them. You are responsible for what you choose to disclose through the Services, whether on a call, in a booking form, or by email.
Email and ordinary telephone are not secure channels. Please do not use them to send us information you would not want read by someone other than the intended recipient.
5. Personal Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect or process the following categories of personal information:
- Contact details: your name, email address, and the phone number at which you ask to be called.
- Booking information: the call length and time you select, and anything you choose to enter in the booking form.
- Payment information: processed on our behalf by our payment processor, including transaction details, form of payment, and payment confirmation. We do not receive or store your full payment card number.
- Communications with us: the content of emails or messages you send us and our replies.
- Device information: information about your device, browser, or network connection, including your IP address and other unique identifiers.
- Usage information: how and when you interact with and navigate the website.
We do not knowingly collect information about your health conditions or treatment. If you voluntarily share such details in a message to us, we use that information only to respond to you.
6. Where We Get It
- Directly from you: when you book a call, communicate with us, or otherwise provide information.
- Automatically: from your device when you visit the website, including through cookies and similar technologies.
- From our service providers: when they collect or process information on our behalf.
7. How We Use Personal Information
- To provide the Services: to schedule your call, connect you with an Auntie at the time you booked, process your payment, send confirmations and reminders, and handle changes and cancellations under our Service Agreement.
- To communicate with you: to respond to your questions and to maintain our business relationship with you.
- Marketing and advertising: to send promotional messages where you have asked to receive them, and to measure and improve our online advertising.
- Security and fraud prevention: to protect the Services, detect and investigate suspected fraudulent or unlawful activity, and protect the safety of Aunties, customers, and the public.
- Legal reasons: to comply with applicable law, respond to valid legal process, and enforce or investigate potential violations of our terms and policies.
8. How We Disclose Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances:
- To the Auntie who takes your call: she receives the information needed to place the call and the length of the call booked. Aunties are engaged under written agreements that require them to keep customer information private and to use it only to provide the call.
- To service providers: companies that perform functions on our behalf, including scheduling, payment processing, website hosting, email delivery, and advertising measurement. They may use the information only as needed to perform those functions for us.
- To advertising and analytics partners: as described in the Cookies and Advertising section below.
- For legal and safety reasons: to comply with applicable law, respond to subpoenas or similar requests, enforce our agreements, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Auntie, our customers, our Aunties, or the public.
- In a business transaction: in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or similar transaction.
The service providers we currently use include our scheduling platform, our payment processor, our website host and email provider, and Google advertising and analytics products.
9. Cookies and Advertising
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use it. We also use Google advertising and analytics products, which use cookies and similar identifiers to measure the performance of our advertising and to help us reach people who may be interested in the Services.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect how the website functions. As we adopt additional advertising or analytics tools, we will update this section to name them.
10. Text Messages and Call Reminders
When you book a call, we send confirmations and reminders to the email address and, if you provide one and ask to receive them, the mobile number you give us. These are messages about your booking rather than promotional messages. Message and data rates may apply. You may stop text reminders at any time by replying STOP, and you may get help by replying HELP or by contacting us using the details below. If you stop reminders, we may still contact you about your booking.
11. Who May Use the Services
The Services are offered only to residents of the Commonwealth of Virginia who are 18 years of age or older. By booking a call you represent that you meet both requirements. We may cancel a booking and decline service if we believe you do not.
The Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below so that we can address it.
12. Security and Retention
We use reasonable measures designed to protect the personal information we hold. No security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and information sent to us over the internet or by telephone may not be secure in transit. We cannot and do not guarantee the security of information you transmit to us, and you send it at your own risk.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the contact details you give us and for ensuring that the phone number and email address you provide are ones you control and that others cannot access without your permission.
How long we keep personal information depends on why we hold it. For example, whether we still need it to provide the Services, to keep accurate financial records, to comply with legal obligations, or to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
13. Your Rights and Choices
We are not required by law to offer the rights described in this section. We offer them because we think you should be able to see and control the information we hold about you. Nothing in this section creates a contractual obligation, a deadline, or a legal right you would not otherwise have.
If you would like to know what personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or receive a copy of it, contact us using the details below. Please tell us clearly what you are asking for and give us enough information to locate your records.
We will confirm who you are before acting on a request. We may decline a request that we cannot verify, that is unreasonable or repetitive, that would affect another person, or that asks for information we do not hold or are required to keep. We aim to respond within a reasonable time. If we decline, we will tell you why, and you may ask us to look at it again.
If a privacy law applies to us in the future and gives you additional rights, we will honor those rights as that law requires.
You may opt out of promotional emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in those emails. If you opt out, we may still send you messages about a booking you have made.
14. Third-Party Websites
The Services may link to websites operated by others, including our scheduling and payment pages. Those sites are governed by their own privacy policies and terms, which we encourage you to review. We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy or security practices of sites we do not operate, and a link is not by itself an endorsement.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we do, we will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date, and the revised policy takes effect when posted unless applicable law requires otherwise. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of the Services after a revision is posted means you accept the revised policy.
